Meet the dentist

Quiet expertise. Plain-spoken care. A practice that grows with the people in it.

Dr. Turner has been practicing in the Valley since graduating from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio in 1998. He opened Mesa Family Dentistry with one employee in July 1999. Since then, the office has grown into a full-service family dental practice, and recently moved a few miles east to Val Vista and Southern in Mesa.

He started his laser training in North Carolina in 2006 and purchased his Waterlase MD — a hard- and soft-tissue laser — at the beginning of 2007. He holds an associate fellowship in soft-tissue lasers from the World Clinical Laser Institute, plus an associate and a full fellowship in hard-tissue lasers from the same institute. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Arizona Dental Association, and belongs to several dental study clubs to keep current with continuing education.

In 2008, Dr. Turner began teaching one day a week as a clinical professor at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa. He retired from teaching about ten years later to focus on the new office that opened at Southern and Val Vista at the end of 2020.

Outside the office

Dr. Turner has been married to his wife, Vikki, since 1992. They have four children and two grandchildren, and live here in Mesa. When he is not at the practice he is an avid SCUBA diver and a lifelong lover of Star Wars.

What guides us

Modern tools. A family-practice approach.

Dentistry has changed enormously since 1999 — and we've changed with it. Here is the thinking behind how we treat the people who sit in our chair.

Continuing education, always

Dr. Turner belongs to several dental study clubs and holds two WCLI fellowships in laser dentistry. The learning hasn't stopped since 1998 — and it shouldn't.

An office designed for care

When we built the new space in 2020, we designed it around modern technology, new techniques, and better ergonomics for both patients and staff.

Plain-spoken, not clinical

We talk to patients the way we'd want a dentist to talk to us — not the way a textbook would. No jargon, no pressure, and a real answer to "what would you do if it were you?"

Technology in the office

We invested in the tools that make dentistry faster, more comfortable, and more accurate.

From handheld digital X-rays to a 3D in-mouth scanner that replaces the gooey impression trays, the equipment we use was chosen to reduce radiation, shorten visits, and produce a better fitting crown, bridge, or implant on the first try.
